Ponsse – Employee Experience

31.3.2023

Ponsse offers a wide range of opportunities for jobseekers interested in forest machines

Sanna Mehtonen and Samuli Juutinen work at Ponsse, a company that manufactures forest machines. Operating globally, Ponsse has won both of them over as an employer. Anyone motivated by the industry and with the right attitude and team spirit should consider a career at Ponsse.

Mehtonen works in hydraulic pre-assembly, while Juutinen is a welder.

“Let’s just say the work is quite versatile. The machine frames are large, and building them involves several phases. I get to weld both large and small seams,” says Juutinen.

“We build central lubrication systems, valve assemblies, and everything related to hydraulics. It’s precise work—you need to stay focused and follow the drawings carefully,” Mehtonen explains.

A work community where people enjoy their jobs

Ponsse is committed to ensuring good working conditions for its employees. Workplace safety, tools, and colleagues are all top-notch.

“What attracted me to Ponsse in the first place was how much good I’d heard about the company. And it really is a great place to work. Workplace safety is well managed, and the tools are high-quality and practical,” says Mehtonen.

“The colleagues are great—there’s a mix of younger and older people. The more experienced ones often have a long background in the field, and it’s always interesting to hear their stories,” Juutinen adds.

“I have the best colleagues in the world. You can always count on them, and help is always available when you need it,” Mehtonen continues.

Always something new to learn

Ponsse is constantly looking for new talent. A lack of formal education in the field shouldn’t discourage anyone from applying.

“If someone is thinking about applying here but doesn’t have training or feels unsure, they should absolutely go for it. With the right motivation and attitude, you can definitely learn this job,” Mehtonen concludes.
